The AI Voice Agent voice catalog lets you browse all available voices, preview them by ear, and filter by language, gender, or age before committing to a choice. The voice your agent currently uses is always pinned at the top of the list with a Current badge — it stays visible regardless of any filters or search you apply, and you can click it to revert a staged change. You can also try any voice during a test call without changing your agent's saved settings — the override resets automatically when you close the popup.
The voice catalog and AI Voice Agent are available on all Zeeg plans. You only need to buy AI minutes to have it working.
How to set your agent's language
The Language setting on the Main Settings tab controls which language your AI Voice Agent speaks on calls — spoken dates, times, and filler phrases all follow this setting. You can pick one primary language and optionally enable additional languages; the agent switches automatically when a caller speaks one of the enabled languages.
Open your AI Phone Agent and click the Main Settings tab.
Click the Language field to open the language picker. Type in the Search box at the top to filter the list by name — if nothing matches, the picker shows No results found.
Check the box next to each language you want to enable. The primary language is marked with a Default badge. To promote a different language to primary, hover over it and click Set as default.
Click Save to apply the change.
After setting or changing the language, review the Voice field too — voice fluency varies by language. Use the Languages filter in the Agent Voices catalog to find voices that sound natural in your chosen language.

How to change your agent's voice
In your Zeeg dashboard, navigate to your AI Phone Agent and open the agent you want to configure.
Click the Main Settings tab.
Find the Voice field and click the current voice name — or Select voice if no voice has been set yet. The Agent Voices catalog opens.
If a voice is already assigned to your agent, it appears pinned above the scrollable list with a Current badge. This pinned row stays visible no matter which filters are active or what you type in the search field — it is excluded from the list below so it never appears twice.
Click the voice card you want — a check mark confirms your staged selection. If you change your mind, click the pinned Current row at the top to revert to your existing voice.
Click Save to apply the new voice to your agent, or Cancel to discard the change.
Tips:
To narrow the list, use any of the filter buttons at the top of the modal:
Languages — show only voices that support a specific language. Each language option in the filter shows a flag so you can identify it at a glance.
Gender — filter by Female or Male.
Age — filter by Young, Middle age, or Old.
(You can also type in the search field (Search voices...) to find a voice by name.)
Hover over any voice card and click Play preview to hear a sample. Starting a new preview stops the previous one automatically. Click Stop preview to stop playback.
How to try a voice in a test call
The test call popup includes a voice picker that lets you hear any voice in a real conversation before changing your agent's permanent settings. The selection is temporary — it resets to your agent's saved voice every time you close the popup.
From your AI Voice Agent page, click Test Agent to open the test popup.
On the opening screen, click Call agent to advance to the test call screen.
Below the orb you will see the voice picker strip — Choose a voice for this test call. Click any voice card to select it.
The call starts automatically with the voice you selected. Hover over a voice card and click Play preview to hear a sample before calling.
After the call ends, click Call again to start another test. You can pick a different voice between calls.
If your agent is configured for multiple languages, the voice you choose in the test popup applies to your agent's primary language only — for this test call only. Your saved agent configuration stays unchanged.
Frequently asked questions
What does the "Current" badge mean?
The Current badge marks the voice your agent is using right now. It is pinned above the scrollable list and stays visible regardless of which filters are active or what you type in the search field. This lets you always see what is active — and, before saving, click the pinned row to revert to it if you change your mind.
How do I undo a voice change before saving?
Your selection inside the Agent Voices modal is only staged — nothing changes until you click Save. To go back to your current voice, click the pinned Current row at the top of the list. To discard all changes without selecting anything, click Cancel.
Will the voice I pick during a test call be saved to my agent?
No. The test call voice picker is an ephemeral override — it is reset to your agent's saved voice every time you close the popup. To permanently change your agent's voice, use the Voice field on the Main Settings tab and click Save.
Can I filter by language to find voices that support my market?
Yes. Open the Agent Voices modal and click Languages to show only voices that support a specific language — each language option in the filter shows a flag icon. Each voice card also displays small language flag icons so you can see at a glance which languages a voice covers.
What does it mean when a voice shows a warning that it is no longer offered?
A voice may be removed from the active catalog over time. If your agent is already using such a voice, it is pinned at the top of the Agent Voices list with a Current badge but cannot be selected again — hovering the badge shows the tooltip explaining why. It continues to work on your agent until you choose and save a different voice, at which point the pinned row disappears and the removed voice can no longer be reselected.
Can I preview a voice without starting a test call?
Yes. In the Agent Voices modal, hover over any voice card and click Play preview to hear a short audio sample. You can preview as many voices as you like before making a selection — no call credits are used for previews.
Can I combine multiple filters at once?
Yes. All filter buttons in the Agent Voices modal can be combined. For example, you can filter by Female gender and Young age at the same time to see only voices that match both criteria.
Which languages were added recently?
Seven languages are now available for the first time: Bulgarian, Croatian, Hungarian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Romanian, and Slovak. Select them in the Language field on the Main Settings tab. The Agent Voices catalog's Languages filter can help you find voices that sound natural in each of these languages.
