CRM date and datetime fields now let you type a date directly instead of clicking through a calendar. The calendar also has Month and Year dropdowns so you can jump to any point in time without stepping month by month.
How to enter a date in a CRM field
Open a CRM record and click the Select date button on the date field you want to edit. The date picker opens.
Type the date in the text input at the top of the picker. The accepted format is DD/MM/YYYY — for example, 25/09/2026. You can also use dots (25.09.2026), dashes (25-09-2026), or ISO format (2026-09-25).
The calendar scrolls to the month you typed as you write. Press Enter or click outside the picker to save the date.
To clear the date, delete all text from the date input and press Enter or click outside.
Always type the full four-digit year. Two-digit years (e.g., 26) are not accepted.
How to enter a time (datetime fields only)
Datetime fields show a second input for the time, to the right of the date input.
Enter the date first. Once a valid date is saved, the time input becomes active.
Type the time in HH:MM format using the 24-hour clock — for example, 14:30 for 2:30 pm.
Press Enter to save the time and close the picker. You can also click outside to save and close.
Using the calendar to pick a date
Click Select date on the field to open the date picker.
Use the Month dropdown at the top of the calendar to jump to any month.
Use the Year dropdown to jump to any year (up to 30 years ahead or 100 years back).
Click the day you want to select it. For date-only fields, the picker closes and the value is saved. For datetime fields, the time input becomes active.
For date-only fields you can also click Today at the bottom of the picker to set today's date.
Keyboard shortcuts
Enter — saves the current draft. In a datetime field, pressing Enter in the date input moves focus to the time input; pressing Enter in the time input closes the picker.
Escape — discards your draft and restores the previously saved value.
Frequently asked questions
What does "Enter a valid date as DD/MM/YYYY" mean?
This message appears if the text you typed is not a recognisable date — for example, if the day or month is out of range (31/02/2026) or if the year has fewer than four digits. Correct the date and press Enter to continue.
What date formats are accepted?
You can type in any of these formats: DD/MM/YYYY, DD.MM.YYYY, DD-MM-YYYY, or ISO YYYY-MM-DD. The month and day can each be one or two digits. The year must always be four digits.
Why do dates in CRM tables now show the year?
Date and datetime columns in CRM record tables and the Company Teams tab now include the year (for example, "15. Sep 2026" instead of "15. Sep"). This makes it immediately clear whether a date is in the current year or a different one without having to open the record.
Can I paste a date into the field?
Yes. Paste any supported format (DD/MM/YYYY, DD.MM.YYYY, DD-MM-YYYY, or YYYY-MM-DD) into the date input and press Enter to save it.
What happens if I click outside without pressing Enter?
Clicking outside the picker commits whatever is in the input at that moment — the same as pressing Enter. If the draft is invalid, it is discarded and the field reverts to its previously saved value.
